How to stay sane during a pandemic

Hi guys,

I hope you’re all doing well and keeping safe!

I don’t think I need to point out that the first half of 2020 was something out of a movie. Our patience has been tested during the last couple months and it looks as though it will continue to be for the foreseeable future. It’s incredibly difficult to adjust to situations that are like this and so we tend to go on autopilot as a way to protect ourselves. However, this urge to close in ourselves needs to be rejected. Although, it’s a difficult pill to swallow, it is usually during difficult times that we have the opportunity to truly develop and become better. So, to everyone who is being tested, know that this will not last forever and that true contentment comes when we look within.

I wish you all the very best.

Until next time…bye!

6. Small Acts: Spreading Positivity

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all doing well and are safe!

They say engaging in small acts of kindness will increase our happiness.

This week’s small act will be spreading positivity on social media by posting positive comments. The anonymity that social media provides makes it easier to bring out the worst in us.

So instead of giving in to that, we should try to post uplifting comments, which are especially needed during these times.

Until next time…bye!

Outside Approval and Its Pitfalls

Hi guys,

I hope you’re all well and keeping safe!

For the past two weeks, I’ve been thinking about striving for material success and how it can affect your internal stability. As we all know, relying on outside success and approval to be happy is a recipe for disaster. However, I also know very well that it is hard to break out of that habit; especially if you are an ambitious person.

It takes no more than a few clicks on our phone to be bombarded with strangers who have had amazing success with, what it seems, minimal effort. Although we know that is generally not the case and usually the maintenance of that success is a much harder road to go down than the road to success was, it is difficult for us not to compare ourselves with them.

What has really helped me deal with this particular demon was to acknowledge the good things that was already in my life. Whenever the outside world seems completely uncontrollable, its best to look inside for peace and happiness. When you see yourself seeking approval of others to feel better, it’s time to look within. When achieving success is not about your goals but about your ego, it’s time to have a word yourself.

Looking to the outside world in order to build your confidence and feel better about yourself will only make things worse because that approval is only transitory and so you will be forced to continually seek it. However, genuinely liking yourself and giving your own approval will last for as long as you want it to.

I hope this was useful for you guys!

Until next time…bye!

5. Small Acts: Reaching out

Hi guys,

Hope you’re all having a wonderful day today!

They say engaging in small acts of kindness will increase your happiness.

This week’s small act will be reaching out to someone who is important to you but haven’t been able to talk to in a while.

It’s easy for us to get caught up with our day-to-day lives and responsibilities. However, we shouldn’t let that make us forget about those closest us. Instead, we should make the time to reconnect with them. This would give us the opportunity to share what has gone on in our lives and also work on strengthening our bond.

Until next time…bye!

4. Small Acts: Forgiving Ourselves

Hi guys,

I hope you’re all feeling blessed today!

It is said that engaging in small acts of kindness increases our happiness.

This week’s small act will be to forgive and allow ourselves to move on from our mistakes.

While on the path of self-improvement, we will make countless mistakes. So, it’s good to get into the habit of not dwelling on them; and instead learn from them those mistakes and move on.

Until next time…bye!

Banishing Negativity

 Hi guys,

I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend!

Negative thoughts and mindsets can have a devastating impact on our lives. It will prevent us from growing and developing. It will also stop us from pursuing our passions and achieving our goals. Repeatedly thinking that the worst is going to happen, leads us to manifest it in our lives. There is one effective way to reduce these negative thoughts:

Purposefully turn every negative thought into a positive one

By either admiring a beautiful flower or acknowledging a small achievement, you are turning your attention towards what is going well and is positive in your life. By making this our habit, we are able to stop ourselves from going to down the “rabbit-hole” of negativity. We will find ourselves possessing the energy and drive to really work on ourselves and achieve our goals. We will also be able to enjoy ourselves more because we are no longer obsessed with what could go wrong.

I hope this was helpful for you guys.

Until next time…bye!

3. Small Acts: Show appreciation

Hi guys,

Hope you’re all wonderful today!

It is said that our happiness increases when we engage in small acts of kindness.

This week’s small act will be showing appreciation for what someone has done for us.

Whether it was something small or big, showing appreciation let’s others know you recognise their efforts and so it wasn’t wasted.

Until next time…bye!

Zuhair Murad Couture Collection: Egyptian Beauty

Hi guys,

Hope you’re all doing well!

I had recently watched the Zuhair Murad Couture Spring Summer 2020 and I was amazed. I’m not the most fashionable person nor do I have any meaningful knowledge when it comes to fashion brands, but I do have an eye for beautiful things. The whole collection was absolutely stunning and I’m not sure if it could be anymore perfect. For now, my favourite piece is look 47.

The inspirations for the collection were ancient Egyptian queens, like Nefertiti and Isis, who were known for their beauty. And I could see that from the first look to the last, which was the wedding dress. Although I know next to nothing about Zuhair Murad; from this collection, I can see how important beauty is to him. This is after all, the purpose of clothing. Not only to hide our nakedness but to also show the beauty that is within.

So, if this is your thing, I really recommend watching the show on youtube or on their website.

Until next time…bye!

UPDATE: 5 Steps To Declutter Your Mind

Hi guys!

Hope you’re all well!

I wanted to give a mini update on how the process of decluttering my mind is going. It was really important for me to start this because I have a lot of things going on and I don’t want to lose my mind trying to juggle all of it.

Implementing the 5 steps has really helped to reduce my stress and anxiety level. By working on my priorities and only focusing on one thing at a time, I am now able to get a lot more done. Also, by deliberatly turning my attention away from distractions, my mind is more at peace.

Now this is only the beginning and, I plan to continue practicing the 5 steps and get better at it.

I know the weather in London doesn’t look to be great but I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time…bye!
